Cinderella Before the Ball

Poor Cinderella has to clean before the ball...

Evil Stepmother, can I be done cleaning?

Ugh, the hairy, evil step brother--Kaizer

Hmmm...is this the glass slipper or a doggy treat?

Run! Run as fast as you can to the prince!

Piper got a real tutu and as you can tell, she is really excited about wearing it. The little superman shirt is Rich's from when he was little. She is sooooo cute!!!!!!!!

Toochies!

We made Christmas cookies on Sunday. Piper has yet to master the /c/ or /k/ sound, so cookies are toochies to her. A little messy, but lots of fun.

The curls are making a comeback! Yay!

Visiting Mommy

I found this old photo of when Piper came to visit my classroom. I wish I had more pictures. It looks like she's just one of the kids.

Happy Birthday Mama!

Daddy surprised mama with a horse and carriage ride around Prospect Park for her birthday. Piper LOVED seeing the horses up close and it was a beautiful day.

(We gave Piper her 1st haircut this night. In an effort to "even out" her very uneven hair I had to chop off that wacky curl! So sad.)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to those near and far! Our family had a fun day hanging out at Mike and Becky's house with their son Henry. Lots of great food, friends, and football.

Big Weekend

It's no secret that we are big fans of Sesame Street in our house! Sesame Street just celebrated their 40th anniversary and the Brooklyn Public Library is running a special exhibit--Sesame through the years. When we heard that Elmo was doing a "meet and greet" we knew we had to take Piper. It was a ridiculous zoo of people at the library, but somehow we ended up in the right line to get a ticket to meet Elmo. The video below really shows how much Piper enjoyed it. I think she would have preferred to stay longer. I know it looks like Mommy is enjoying it much more than Piper, but she really was impressed!

Piper loves to pose for pictures, but completely anticipates the flash and now just closes her eyes and holds it!

Who doesn't love "Where The Wild Things Are" right now?! (This was on the library wall) On a side note, I thought it might be fun to keep the momentum going from the movie and read other Maurice Sendak books to my Kindergarten class. Trust me, the Wild Things is probably his tamest book. The other stories have strange characters, weird story plots, and even weirder illustrations. Even his book In the Night Kitchen, which has a great story, shows a little boy losing his clothes and running (or floating?) around naked which Kindergartens can't move past because they are giggling so much.

We finished the damp day at Fort Greene Park.
